Martlet is the investment arm of the Marshall of Cambridge group and has invested in more than 50 startups, since its launch in 2011.
We provide small sums of patient capital (initially £25K to £100K) for early-stage deep technology start-ups that are located in the UK, with a bias towards Cambridge and London.
Martlet will always co-invest with angels and small seed funds, and has the capacity to follow in subsequent investment rounds.
Potential investees must demonstrate their potential for rapid growth and will usually possess a strong defensible position with respect to their technology, intellectual property and products.
We focus on companies that have completed the proof of concept stage, and usually will have achieved some sales or grant revenues. In all cases, there must be a strong and demonstrable commercial demand for the technology under development.
In addition to capital, we can offer support, experience and a network of contacts.
As part of the Marshall Group, which encompasses aviation, aerospace and commercial/consumer vehicles, has over £2 billion of sales and employs over 6000 people, our investees may have the opportunity to work with our operating companies.
